political correctness impression

After chatting to some people and hearing people talking, I got the impression, stating which areas of a town or city may have 'a rough reputation' or where crimes are possibly more likely to happen. An example is, I was chatting to a member of staff from the 'Citizens Advice Bureaux'. I talked about people applying for a home in a town or city being able to apply for 'non rough' areas and being told about if they are new to the town or city.
