I'm not sure if a computer controller could be used on these games, but a keyboard can.

It looks like one can create a room so that another player/friend on another laptop can join you to play a two player game?

Technically any controller can be adapted to control... anything. You could take a PS4 controller for instance and use the analog stick to control the mouse if you wanted. I've had to do that before, it was annoying.

As far as the retro games, I've always found it easier to just download the whole lot of them and use an emulator that isnt browser-based.

I don't think that is as user friendly for some of my friends to deal with, but I understand what you're saying.
