As the last of the "Log Cabin Presidents", President James Garfield's favorite food was Brunswick Stew. It is a thick vegetable soup made with the addition of squirrel meat. He loved it so much, that he authorized his secret service guards to hunt squirrel on the White House grounds. I could not find a picture of him eating it, but here is a portrait of President Garfield, followed by a photograph of Brunswick Stew.
