Permission to take a night off... Is less more?

Big weekend here, Calgary is hosting the Grey Cup championship game (CFL football)

There is also a big festival from Thursday (yesterday) to Saturday, game day on Sunday of course... All of this is probably very similar to what happens prior to the Super Bowl

With my urban photography I want to jump in with both feet and take in as much as I possibly can (photography), and we only get it every 10 to 15 years, so it's not like an annual event, at least not an annual event in your own city... Why I'm pushing myself hard

I went last night, after a 10 hour shift at work, it was fairly quiet... Worked nine hours today on Friday, came home tired, I had also been out to two different club meetings on Monday and Tuesday

I really wanted to go tonight, now I'm starting to think of taking a night off at home, then hit the festival full bore tomorrow with (hopefully) fresh energy for a full day of photography, but then... I'm afraid of what I'll miss by not going tonight, I don't like "missing" things, which I know sounds very silly, because that's what life is about, can't take in everything that ever happens...

One photo from last night, in case anyone is curious...

Good one Sherlock. You have a natural ability to capture people's emotions and it's well-framed and an interesting shot. You will be recognized one day as someone who records life in your city and as a true street photographer. When all the 'popular' photographs fall away yours will be the one's that stand the test of time.

nice. I like your photos.

If you say so...

One more photo from last night, hopefully more to come over the next two days, this one is a little moody, and you don't want to know how dark it was!

You have a good eye! I love the photo with the picnic table and the way you captured light and shadows.

I like to look at the urban street pictures from the BBC show "Call the Midwife". I don't know if they are really old photos from the 1950s and '60s or staged photos "antiqued" to look old, but they reveal a lot about the era portrayed in that series. It's on Netflix in the US.
