Good idea IMO, if only they did it at the Meadowhall Centre or other Northern shopping centres.

Thoughts?

Lights in a shopping centre like that are likely to be fluorescents which do bother a lot of people so dimming them can't be bad. I'm more impressed that they are doing a quiet hour in the first place.

There's a shopping centre in Wendouree, not all that far from where I live, that has been doing this now for ages. I see the idea is catching on, and has spread to Europe.

Haven't heard of this in USA.
It would be nice.
Some restaurants will do this for ambience at dusk.
