NT for a day???

Dan Dan

Im a dog person!
Today during an argument with a co-worker about me obsessively cleaning the worksite i said "if only you could be me for a day then you might realise what its like to be in my head. This has got me thinking about the opposite direction. If you could be NT for just one day, Would you? I cant decide.

Like, for 24 hours then I revert back? A thousand times yes, the only way to fully appreciate an experience is to have experienced it first-hand.

I can think of plenty of things I would rather be for a day than an NT (gorilla, great white shark, superhero, bengal tiger, wolf, grizzly bear, komodo dragon, dragonfly, influenza virus, etc.).

It would be interesting but I'm glad to be the way I am. I've been Autistic all my life, wouldn't want to overly change even for a day.

I've had glimpses of it from time to time, no pill or magic was needed. I doubt much will change either, there wouldn't be a "significant improvement in functioning" (at this point anyways) or whatever BS the enlightened experts like to throw around. No.

If the question was whether I'd like to be a bird for a day, that would be an instant "yes"...

I like being a Aspie and I do not think I would like being a NT, particularly after a lifetime being like I am. Maybe for a hour, but not a whole day.

I have no frame of reference to lean towards or against such a notion. Only that I am on the spectrum of autism and I have no mortal choice in the matter.

Perhaps in the next life I'll find out, though in that case it would be for a lifetime rather than merely a day.

Though I'd have to chuckle at the prospect of being NT, still being a stark realist and still having some manifestation of OCD. You never know... :p

I'm afraid I might lose a fundamental part of myself. At this point I'm tired of fighting my "condition" and ready to embrace it, along with others who can relate to my journey.

Yes, I would, as long as I could change back afterwards, and retain my memories. The experience would be useful to help me understand people better, their complexities, thought processes and how they tick. It would be a useful opportunity to study people.

It might not be any worse than having the flu.

If it were only for 24 hours, I suppose I could do it.
That's one of those 12 step rules, isn't it?
Anybody can do anything, for a day?
