Hi all!
i am 23 years old, a psychology college student. I first met my best friend Amanda wen we were 16. She was super shy and as i got to really know her, i realized she was probably one of the most peculiar people i have ever met. A few years ago, before I went to college, i heard of aspergers. As i read more and more about them, i realized they fit Amanda to a T! I told her about it but i couldn't tell her its something you're diagnosed with because she's extremely touchy with anything to do with her mental health. So I just said that "There are a whole group of people that are just like you! They're called aspies." I gave her a bunch of descriptions and she was shocked at how alike they were. She said "All this time I thought I was the only person who acted like this!" So thats the story of how i diagnosed my best friend lol.

Hi Kalee

welcome to af.webp

You are what I would call a "true friend"!

For so long, I thought there was something really wrong with me, as I have tried to make friends and yet, found that I was missing a vital "ingrediant", but could never put my finger on it, until I heard about aspergers and it is a sense of: at last, I have the answer to what is going on.

Only certain medical professionals can give a diagnosis. What you have is a suspicion.

Hey Kalee :) It's great that you're trying to make an effort to understand your friend better. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.
