Not on the spectrum, I want to understand my bf

I'm here because my boyfriend has Asperger's. I want to receive information about the syndrome. I think that it could improve the relationship and avoid misunderstandings. More because English is his first language, but it's not mine.
Thanks in advance.

If he is actually diagnosed with it, it would be good for you to read up on Aspergers online. There are many sites on the subject. But read more then one, because there are errors and misconceptions sometimes on these sites.

You might consider talking to him about Aspergers and ask him to explain it to you. It's also good to learn about it as a scientific topic, but keep in mind that we are not all identical. We share traits and characteristics, but we each manage them differently in varying degrees of intensity. Please don't treat him as defective. Motivation, needs, and interests might be slightly out of the ordinary, but not wrong. Under the right conditions, people with Aspergers can work magic. Everything we do involves the heart. We just don't have a play/pause button.

The thing is that he was diagnosed a couple of months ago and sometimes he doesn't even know how to explain me or don't like to talk so much about it. Yeah, I know you people like this are not defective, the opposite, are amazing. I would like to know more about the condition, so he is kind of new as well and I've told him that it is important for us to understand this more and about more misunderstandings.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I'll take into account each point. :)

Thank you, that is why I'm here. I've been reading about it but, even that it's been helpful, it's been confusing as well.
