Does anyone else have problems using the left side of their bodies? I'm interested in finding out more about NVLD Non Verbal Learning Disorder?

If you haven't heard of it...

An extract from the following website:

What Is Nonverbal Learning Disability (NVLD)?

Someone with nonverbal learning disabilities may have difficulty with the following tasks:

  • Gripping a pencil
  • Tying shoelaces
  • Using scissors
  • Throwing a ball
  • Riding a bike
  • Avoiding bumping into things
  • Recalling visual information
  • Staying focused on a task
  • Multitasking
  • Planning ahead
  • Staying organized
  • Writing essays
  • Telling stories
  • Taking notes
  • Drawing geometric shapes
  • Understanding fractions
  • Solving math problems
  • Deciphering graphs or maps
  • Interpreting social cues
  • Evaluating new circumstances
  • Reading facial expressions and body language
  • Understanding humor, idioms, and sarcasm
  • Making friends

As a result of their symptoms, children with nonverbal learning disabilities may feel isolated and marginalized, and face social barriers well into adulthood.

Nonverbal learning disability is classified as a neurodevelopmental condition that is believed to stem from a dysfunction in the right hemisphere of the brain. Abnormalities in the white matter of the brain can hamper the transmission of neurological signals in this region, resulting in the symptoms of this condition.

Nonverbal learning disability is therefore characterized by difficulty with right-brain tasks and relative ease with left-brain tasks.

I am left handed.

I highlight the ones I struggle the most. From the table picture. I check all the Communication Deficit column, some of the Visual Spatial Deficit and none of the Logic and Reasoning Deficit.

That's interesting. I'm obviously right handed and struggle to use the left side of my body. It's definitely not just due to me having a bias for the right side. Do you struggle with doing tasks with the right side of your body?

I have put a lot of time in developing the right side, but I am naturally inclined to the left.

I also have all the communication and visual spatial deficits, and none of the logic - reasoning deficits.
