Newly diagnosed, confused, looking for people who understand, and to see if anyone shares interests

Hi I'm Augy, I like art, I also like five nights at freddies, and creepypasta, mainly. I recently got diagnosed with level two autism by recently I mean like two days ago and I still very confused and unsure how to react cause the person who tested me when i was younger said I wasn't and nobody but my parents thought I was autistic. It feels very odd as I grew up with an autistic big brother and I always was told I had to do more then him cause I wasn't autistic but then it turns out I am autistic? It feels weird and parents are mad at my past doctors.

I also found out due to the level of autism I have I am unable to live alone cause apparently I have issues with making proper decisions and issues taking care of myself? I don't get that either cause I thought I was very good at that stuff. My brain is very scramble mcframbled.

There is this YouTube series I like it's based off of fnaf and it's called the sun and moon it is really good, my favorite characters are Lunar and Eclipse because of the lore behind them. The sun and moon show also have two branched out channels which are the Lunar and Earth and also the Monty Gator and foxy show. Lunar is cool because he has very cute colors in his design, he is easily confused and sometimes hyper, and he likes to play around and eat sweets. I also enjoy eating sweets and I like the colors he is.

I also have a lot of cow facts if anyone wants to hear cow facts.

Hi Augy and Welcome :) It's a process you have started, I believe it takes time for most people to understand their diagnosis and implications of it.

Welcome, @Annakenzie

From what it sounds like, the doctors you saw at a younger age didn't see the signs of Autism. I was in a similar boat myself. So no. This is not an unusual occurrence nor is your parents being upset about it not being seen immediately, odd. And I am glad your parents were adamant in trying to get you diagnosed.

One thing is that you are now on the journey to discovering yourself and finding what the autistic you can REALLY do. It's going to be a hard road, but you have us here on the forum to help. Have a look around. There is plenty to read about.

I hope you can find others you can connect with and find joy in your future endeavors~

Thank you for the helpful and nice words. However with the diagnosis thing I did show signs as a kid however the doctor who tested me when I was 5 didn't believe I could be autistic since I was born girl so he paid me to do the tests faster cause he wanted to hurry up and get it done. I am sorry if it seems like i am correcting i am not trying to I am just explaining what happened.

So it was gross, gender based, ignorance on the part of the doctor. That is the worst. I feel horrible that you and your parents had to deal with such a nasty individual. That is something you definitely don't want from a medical professional. At least you finally got a reasonable doctor in the end to diagnose you properly.

Also you are not being rude. I appreciate the clarification on what really happened.

Hi Augy. Random cow facts welcomed.

A diagnosis is just meeting a cluster of traits, which are often revised and refined. The key is to figure out how the diagnosis can help you. Ask the doctor what criteria you met and how you could work on things. Not so you are "normal" but rather so you're happier.

Hello, and welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy it here.

I also have a lot of cow facts if anyone wants to hear cow facts.
Sounds very interesting to hear about. Let us know if you need help figuring out where or how to share.

Hello, welcome, l like your avatar. I have a fascination with cows too. I love their docile nature.

My youngest daughter has always had a fascination and love of cows (total animal person, always has been). She wanted a "pet" cow for many years, as a child.
Interestingly, she is also a Taurean.
