The writing pair that go by the single name of James S. A. Cory, authors of the very fun Expanse space opera are publishing a new series.

The first book is The Mercy of Gods. It seems like it takes place in the same universe as the Expanse series, some 3000 years after the collapse of the ring, on one of the far-off planets colonized through the ring.

I've only just begun. So far, it is introducing a political situation on the planet. Not so exciting yet, but having read the entire Expanse series, I have high hopes, once the background info is in place.
