New posts not shown unless its a new thread?

I notice that when a new thread is created it is shown on the list of topics on the right side of the screen.
However if it is a new post on an old thread it is not.
I have posted a new post on an older thread titled Autism and Anxiety/PTSD which is not shown in the new posts list. This makes my post not viewed by most people.
Am I missing something?

I discovered that a couple of days ago. New posts on old threads don't get a whole lot of response.

Yeah. The new post wedgit isn't reliable. The 'what's new' lightning bolt icon will take you to a page that shows you every thread that currently has recent activity.

I see it there under "New Posts," but it's already on Page 4. I think it just gets buried quickly.

There is no special box for new posts like there is for new threads - just the mega-list of new posts that don't stay new for very long.
