New -- but also old?

Crabcore

DysFUNctional™
Hey there, everyone. I used to post here a little while ago (pretty heavily between 2021-2022, if memory serves me, but I doubt anybody would remember me) and I also don't remember what my name was or how to get back in, so I'm hoping it's ok if I just start fresh. I met a lot of cool people on here around the summer of '22 after just getting sober a few years prior and, well, with any luck I'd love to meet some more. I'm a pretty huge nerd, a little obsessed with music, and I drink way too much coffee for my own good. I was diagnosed pretty late in life (in adulthood) and I'm still working on embracing it as part of who I am.

Anyway, I hope I'm not breaking any rules by signing up again. If so, I definitely will concede

Welcome to the site Crabcore, can identify with the drinking probably too. Eventually
After some tests , discovered a sizeable cyst on one of my kidneys . Only intake connection ,I could make was the coffee drinks I had been drinking quite regularily .
So did research, It was the stuff that was in my coffee . cappucinos cream. Milk etc
but had not used added sugar since my teens.Coffee alone did not appear to be the issue. Long run got very particular about coffee beans I used.
Hope you find some good threads and forums to read here.

Welcome, @Crabcore

Where new or old, it's nice to meet you. Hopefully you'll figure things out~

I've stopped drinking coffee myself. Caffeine plays a factor with me being off. I drink sparingly, so I really don't have a problem with it.

Hello @Crabcore and welcome back.

Was your old username Slime_Punk by any chance? If so, I remember you! We used to talk about tech, gaming, Linux, coding, electronics, microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, that kind of stuff.

If so, welcome back, great to talk to you again! If that’s not you, welcome back anyway!

Yes! That's me! How are you doing?! ♥️

Ha! I knew it! As soon as I saw the new username I was reminded of “death to false crabcore” in your old profile, musician, artist and fellow techie!

Anyway, doing great, I got my official diagnosis around this time last year and I’ve been working on some personal stuff around that. Plus the usual tech stuff.

How’s things with coding and Linux? Are you a master leet haxxor terminal coder yet? Added anything to your mountain of SBCs and MCUs?

Aww! You're one of us now (well, you always were, but being diagnosed always makes it just that much cooler)!

No! Actually, music and art are really the main things that have continued to draw me into the coding / scripting world, no matter how much I try to pull myself away from them! I think I got a few dirt-cheap Orange Pis since then and pretended to try to learn ARM assembly for 5 minutes before just letting them all collect more dust. Maybe if I pull them into my weird artistic world they'll actually get more use :D.

If you've got any cool projects in the works, I'd love to check them out!
