Picking at my scabsDoes anyone here engage in self injuring stim. I bite my lip when I'm angry or excited, but my lips doesn't bleed most of the time. I guess I have really thick lips LOL.
Alright, I changed title to negative stimming behavior. Sorry I don't mean to trigger you. From what I’ve seen, biting you lip is a common stim. I don’t do it really(sometimes I bite the inside of my mouth), but I tend to bite my knuckles and have produced some decent callouses. I also crack my knuckles, click my teeth, spin in chairs, and spin pencils/fidget with anything I can get my hands on.
I would suggest maybe changing the title of this if you can (I don’t know if it is possible) as it could me misinterpreted as potentially serious/life threatening self harm.
I know when I read the title I had a surge of shock (maybe? I’m bad at reading emotions, including my own). I had depression about half a year ago and went through some self harming by gripping a broken plastic knife blade and cutting at my hand with it. When I saw this title I wanted to see if maybe it was something similar as that kind of turned into a stim of sorts. I also wanted to help if I could.
And as for having thick lips, they probably just calloused a little.
Maybe you can try "biting" your tongue with your lips instead. That's what I'm trying to do now, thought people still look at me strangely when I stick my tongue out. At least I don't bleed with this new stim.Yes, I do this, too, and make them bleed. I also pick at scabs on my face and make them bleed, too![]()
