Need ideas for engaging with my cat.

I called her from another room and 3/4 of the time she comes running. I have to understand that this is a process and I have come so far with her already. When Mew is on the bed, she seems to be a more relaxed cat, and here is where I can pick her up and snuggle for a second, put her down, and SHE DOES NOT run away from me!
