I was out for a photo walk downtown with a friend and we decided to grab a coffee.
A man approached my friend complimenting him on his hat and they chatted briefly, the more I looked at him I thought he looked familiar. He then told me that I had photographed him four years ago at some event.
Anyway, as we talked I somehow brought up Asperger's and his eyes lit up, it turns out he has been diagnosed with it, I believe he has an AQ of 42, it was an interesting conversation.
He is quite successful in life as a sociology professor in our local university, which is I think how the topic came up, sociology being the study of humans interact with each other. Apparently his special interest within the study of sociology is in coffee shop culture and the interaction within that.
We also shared some struggles we both have.
