Modified sayings that actually make more sense …

For example:
"Old habits die hard"
Becomes
"Bad habits die hard"

And:
"Give them an inch & they take a mile"
Becomes
"Give them an inch & they think they're a ruler"

Does anyone else do this? Please share!

I can't claim that it makes more sense, but I just found myself saying "thrown in the deep end without a paddle" ... which just tickled me beyond belief, so I thought I'd share.

To err is human, but to foul things up requires an nt! (quick, call for the aspie technician to fix things yet again!!) :)

Doesn't actually make more sense, but I can't resist:

"Let's get this antique on the road show!" -- The World's End
