It is funny you ask this because just today I was thinking of getting one of those t-shirts with the puzzle logo on it to indicate that I have autism. I am a bit odd looking and do not want people to make judgments. Sadly, "autism" is the last think people think about when they see an odd person.

So, maybe place one would be to look at odd people and wonder........

The trouble is we are all scared so even if you might suspect someone has it, you may still miss the connection. See, a lot of us were bullied and abused and beat up, so we are afraid of people.

So say for instance you came to my gym and saw me all weird and thought, "Hmmmmm Must be a fellow Aspie. Could even be OKRAD!!" and you tried to smile. Well, I would not think you were an autie and I would look away and think you were just laughing at me.

The only solution is that we all need to wear those wrist bands to indicate to other Auties......"Hey, I am not weird. I am an Autie and if you are one, AND ONLY IF YOU ARE ONE, then feel free to come up and say hello even if it is all you can say."

I would be glad to share a knowing smile with other Auties if I knew that they knew and they knew that I knew!!!

Is it possible we have a built in auti-dar that we don't know of.

Gay people have gay-dar, and they have normal brains!

Oh, we need Aspie/ Autie pride tee shirts.

Available in neutral colours, soft cotton with a bit stretchyness

yes i have this,i have outed or successfully diagnosed many aspies;some of whom were very mild and everyone else were like 'you've got to be joking theres no way he is on the spectrum'.

i can spot a aspie or autie a mile off.

as for finding friends [you could also look for people on the rest of the spectrum to,you might find someone relateable] you could try autistic dating:
A Dating Site for Autistics its for friendship to despite its name and its completely free. it might look like a dodgy honey pot website, aimed at trapping people but its not ive joined it in the past to see what it was like and its ok,im just not interested in dating or close friendship.
