It's a good book, an excercise in rationality, if you like that sort of thing, and it's very readable and entertaining. I don't need to tell you that the brainwashed argument doesn't hold up, one is free to read any book they like and not be tied to one text and outlook. Also the scientific method relies on verifiable evidence that's always incorporating new knowledge, it isn't fixed and rigid, so its hardly brainwashing. If there was evidence for a God, it would quickly be incorporated into scientific teaching.

I definitely agree about the scientific method and I find it ridiculous when it is dismissed by religious fanatics. I’ve even seen supporters of Young Earth Creationism accuse those who understand evolution as having a religion, even calling them “evolutionists.” It undermines their own position to call evolution a religion.

Yes, that's just being deliberately unclear in terms so as to confuse people. It's a slick slight of hand but doesn't stand up to scrutiny

I'm fine with religion as long as there is separation between political power and religion, although how long it will last in the UK is questionable. The pace of change is giving whiplash.

i know its the wrong attitude to have but over the years i have developed the mindset that women are the only gender that are owed a relationship for simply just existing, men are not, because by default, women always have dating options or get interest from men for just existing, men by default don't have that from women.

This post i read:

Sexual attraction is there for a reason: Reproduction.

Consider:

Most prehistoric women had their first child around 18–20 years old.​

This is very similar to:

• early agricultural societies
• many traditional societies today
• the biological peak of fertility

The facts mean nothing to some ppl.
What can you do? <shrug>

Society has taught older men to pretend not to find attractive women attractive.
Go figure.

On the converse side, most younger women don't find older men attractive because the viability of the child will be compromised, in addition to the woman & child's provider would die much earlier than them.
A pretty pragmatic consideration, if you ask me.

If you take out procreation, greater age gaps make more sense, though not perfect, admittedly.
Having a younger partner is a concern for me, not only because I will die before her, but also because of the fear that I may develop some infirmity beforehand.
