Looking for a caregiver or someone with ASD to interview :)

Hello All!

My name is Karly and I am currently in a graduate program to obtain by masters in Applied Behavior Analysis. My current class is "Autism Spectrum Disorders" and I am needing to conduct an interview with a parent/caregiver of a child with ASD, or someone who has ASD themselves. The purpose of this assignment is to learn more about how individuals with autism experience autism in their daily lives. I have a list of questions and since I just moved out of state I am having a hard time finding a family or caregiver to interview. The questions can simply be answered through e-mail, or through the private messaging feature on this website. If you are willing to help out please respond on here or send me a private message. :) Thank you so much for considering!!

Welcome! There's a saying that goes if you've met one person with autism you've met one person with autism. We are all very different so you'd probably be better off interviewing at least a few people to get a more realistic picture.

I love that, and I completely agree with you! It would be wonderful if I could find a few different people to interview! Thank you for your input!! :)

Hi Karly

welcome to af.webp

I'm fairly certain that many won't feel comfortable passing info thru email, so my suggestion is to invite those who want to help you thru our private messaging to maintain their privacy.

I'd be happy to help out, if you'd like.

I'll say one other thing though: you should probably make a topic about this in the main section of the forums rather than here. The introduction section doesnt get alot of attention and isnt really meant for much conversation.

Welcome to the forums!
I have ASD if you need to ask questions I can PM you.

Hi Karly.

I'm a classically autistic 36-year-old man living in the US. Please feel free to message me your questions.

At the very top of the page, in the upper right corner, you'll see three little buttons that look like [Karly K][Inbox][Alerts]. Just go to Inbox->Start a New Conversation, and you should be good to go.
