We're going to lose some fruits and plants, too. The collards, mustard and turnip greens are burned and the lettuce is dead. The kale looks okay.

I walked around outside today surveying some of the damage. The best tasting mango tree was in full bloom with lots of tiny fruit. All killed.

Most of the rest of the mangos were in bloom and all the blooms are dead.

I’ll probably get a few. There’s a few trees that haven’t bloomed much yet and sometimes a tree will bloom a second time, but more sparsely.

We have another weekend of freezing temps forecast. Mango trees will tolerate a couple of hours of near or at freezing, but not many days of hard freeze like we’ve had. Basically we’ve had some six days in a row already.

My bananas are frozen to the ground.

I haven’t had weather like this for 14 years.

All jokes aside, here is my method for dealing with exhaustion:

Pretend I'm not exhausted and just Do The Thing. If I can hammer through the first five minutes, I can cruise through the rest of the task.

I envy you that you live in a place where mango usually grow.

We have that problem here with cherries and northern peaches. A late hard frost, especially if it goes on, really, really takes a tole on the harvest.

I'm anticipating that for this spring, alas. The weather has gone nuts.

Yes, quite frankly at my age I was surprised at being able to maintain a steady hand with a 5/0 brush. Not to mention these figures average around only 52mm or 2 inches high. Quite hard on my aging eyeballs!

I forgot that actually I stopped modeling way back in 1984 and didn't pick it up again until 2009. Then stopped again five years ago. Got a little burned out on it, particularly in competitions.

SO has shaking hands, even when he is drinking meds to not be shaking and trembling 24/7, his hands still do that from time to time... but when he starts painting, he firstly positions his hands on the table to stabilize them... and then I guess he calls for supernatural powers, because when he paints his hands are not shaking. Is it similar with you maybe?

I'll post it when I give the one I just finished a matte coating with my airbrush. The last step I do with figures- and model vehicles. And as soon as I get some bananas...lol.

Nope. At most any time I can raise my arms straight out in front of me, hold my palms flat with all five fingers extended outwards, remaining still.

Just don't ask me to walk toe-to-toe like in a sobriety test. That I cannot do.

Hope your SO can find a buyer for his works. Over the years I've sold my share of models and figures, though never thought I could make a living at it. I did know someone who was not only an accomplished figure painter Mike Good, but who also became a "grand master" sculptor and painter, selling his own figurines. His work is simply amazing.

Thank you for the kind wishes! Where were you selling them?

Oh wow, well, SO isn't sure that being a doctor is a good choice for him, so who knows, maybe this is his actual calling, and he will move into sculpting later! He does like creating things with his own hands.

I used to work in a hobby shop, where a lot of customers got to see my works on display. Occasionally with some making offers to me when I needed the money!

If he can find such a store nearby, he might consider making contact with them. You never know.

Sadly though hobby shops in America are a vanishing business, with online operations replacing nearly all of them. The one in town closed in 2011, breaking lots of modelers' hearts.
