Starting small definitely is best. I specifically asked about security at the facility and felt like they kind of brushed away any concerns about a patient going off the rails. Then, I thought about them handling sharp knives in a cooking class. Still thinking about that angle.
Two experienced counselors will live at the facility with the women and two other staffers will be there every day. There will be 8-12 patients there so the ratio of counselors to patients will be about 1 to 2 or 1 to 3.
Be careful, you are very giving person, but don't place yourself in danger.
I couldn’t agree more.I've changed my mind about volunteering in person. I'll donate things they need such as bedding, toiletries and clothing. It's too risky for an old lady like me.
