List just one thing you did today

Going to clean today. Cleaning the fridge really lifted my spirits. I analyzed where l needed some dressers or spice holder, and the kitchen has zen. But today the living room needs zen.

I went to church and then took my nephew to a Mexican restaurant for fajitas. We were stuffed with food, and I took him home with a "go-to box" of leftovers for his dinner.

I picked lots of jalapenos, habaneras, ghost peppers and poblano peppers from our garden this morning. Now I have to figure out what to do with them to preserve them for winter.

Interrupted a potentially unpleasant series of events by pulling hard on a sturdy leash when Dee Dee the Dog discovered a smallish porcupine a few feet away in the undergrowth.

No living entities were injured.

Discovered many unpublished design differences in three 1856 Flying Eagle coins! Nerd joy!!!

I made cuttings from a Chinese money plant and some ivy and vine plants which I will root in spring water and then plant in soil in containers.

Finally , l have the house looking organized. It took looking at every room, deciding where it fell short, then ordering dressers, spice rack, counter shelves, and purging of items that are no longer useful. But l couldn't do that with my partner there. It was to difficult to focus on their needs and come up with an entire house redo.

Put all those apples into jars.

1 5 gallon bucket of apples comes out to exactly 12 quarts, canned.

What kind of liquid did you use for the jars? Water, sugar, lemon juice, spices? Did you cook the apples before you put them in the jars?

I blanch the apples for about 5 minutes.

The liquid is just water, sugar, and some lemon juice (to increase acid for preservation). Water bath canning, for 25 minutes.

I add the spices and corn starch (to thicken) when I make the pie :).
