List just one thing you did today

I watched the hummingbirds for a long while - boy were they aggressive defending the nectar. I could hear them clashing mid air and seemingly “shouting” at each other.

They are very territorial. I once (on a canoe trip) saw two birds really going at each other over…a piece of red flagging tape. 😂

Today I made my train reservations for me and my canoe. We will be dropped off at a lake in the middle of nowhere!

You know how when the mosquitos get bad, and you go outside, then come back in and your forehead, temples, and earlobes itch?

I did that today.

Interacted with Canadian customs, a tough looking woman, who did not understand where I was going. I kept giving her larger and larger towns and finally she allowed as how she knew where Montreal was and we went forward from there including taking the train and I had to explain the train not only takes canoes but will stop at any mile marker and let canoeists off.

Had a morning glory muffin.
I had to look up "morning glory muffins" because I thought they had actual morning glories (the flower) in them, which would make them slightly toxic.

I had to take my truck to town for (I think) breaks.

Vacuuming the living room and bedroom. Having to lift up the recliners to get underneath them.

Ugh.

I went to the dentist. D: Surprisingly enough for me, I did really good today. Usually the tools make me gag and it's really awkward. D: lol

Hummingbirds are usually considered to be uniquely bereft of cooperation and altruism.
As usual, I'm not here in time, but yesterday I had my car quit while blocking a loading bay, and managed to walk home for tools and back in the rain to get it fixed before anyone was inconvenienced. The problem was, as suspected, a bit of corrosion on the battery terminal, but it had me quite worried.

That is practicing self care when you refuse to be hurt. It sounds like a healthy boundary to me.
I am posting after many years. I am a father of a neurodiverse son. He has become a highly successful consultant to many international agencies on climate change, rural development and community

I am posting after years. This forum helped me a lot in supporting my neurodiverse son now 42 years old. He is now a highly respected professional in his field. He is acknowledged in South Asia as a consultant on rural development, climate change and community welfare. Central to his success is adaptation and has mastered the art of avoiding noice. He knows noise will overload his sensory system. I just told him you have to self preserve your talent. Stop thinking what people say..
