List just one thing you did today

Did the monthly grocery shopping and somehow avoided the holiday crowd who has yet to loot the shelves. But three trips up and down the stairs in 95 + degree weather wasn't any fun.

And now it's about 98 and quite windy. It may storm again like yesterday. The kind of weather that makes most of us nervous.

Helped a person who lives in a van with my support from a horrible car accident they went thru in FL. Told them Morgan and Morgan farm out their cases to local PI attorneys, which isn't always good for client. I worked as PI paralegal, no settlement can ever cover the pain you may have lifelong.

I hauled buckets of water to the horse trough and checked the fence during a rain storm.⛈️🤠🐎

We need to walk our fence lines today to see if any trees have fallen on them during rainstorms. A couple days ago, our donkeys disappeared from view. We found where a tree had knocked down part of their fence and they had escaped onto forested land that is not well fenced. I yelled for them and shook a bucket with their treats in it and they came running back to the barn while husband repaired the fence. Donkeys are always greedy for treats.

Are your donkeys just pets or do you get milk or fur from them?

Old lawyer wisdom says the definition of a "good settlement" is when neither side is happy. ;) Sometimes no amount of money will compensate for damages caused but it's less risky than rolling the dice with a jury.

Morgan and Morgan is composed of local attorneys at all of their various offices around the country as far as I know. They open a branch office somewhere and staff it with local attorneys. I know several local attorneys who went to work for that firm as employees.

No, we don't get anything of value from the donkeys. They're big, expensive pets that require a farrier to trim their hooves every 6 weeks or so, hay in winter, good pasture in summer, water and secure fences year-round. They also need annual vaccinations for various things.

Do u have other pets too?

Yes, a couple of horses which are also big, expensive pets and two old cats. We're in our early 70's and want to travel without having to arrange for pet care while we're gone so we aren't replacing pets when they die. My last dog died about 4 years ago and I cried my heart out for a week. I also have a beta fish but he's easy to take care of. We haven't even replaced the chickens after the last one died because my sister has chickens and guinea hens for eggs.

Do you have any pets?

Nope but I like watching cat videos!

Came home again from a long way away.

I want to stop coming home and be home instead for a while.
