List just one thing you did today

Fixed my storm door tonight without having to go buy new parts. The wind just about ripped it off last night. Broke the wind chain spring, ripped the pump bracket out of the door frame and bent the rod. Got woken up by the sound of crashing metal. The only reason I didn't lose the door is because the wind blew over the snow shovel, and the door had wedged itself against the shovel.

Application submitted today for transplant surgery, Yay, so exciting, now we wait to see if the transplant team will consider them.

I got a macro camera lens and spent much of the day chasing insects and spiders.

Worked on sourcing new parking brake return springs for the rear disc brake swap on my wagon. Not only are the factory ones icky, but they were never quite strong enough to return the brakes, even when I did this swap back in the 90s. Couldn't find any from spring suppliers that were even close, so I put together an Excel sheet with their formulas on spring design. Only thing that makes sense is my factory springs only have 65-70% of their capacity left. And any new springs would have to be stretched way past their design limit to get the proper force and travel. Which explains why the factory springs never lasted long.

Took car for free engine check light code at Pep Boys. They printed out codes. Went to Firestone to schedule appointment because my honest car place went bad. Auto Zone also will do engine check code for you. We bought oil and something else for that free service.
