I scrolled down this page and this nearly gave me a heart attack, lol.
I know arachnophobia is irrational but I'm terrified of spiders. Would've screamed if I saw this guy in my shower!
Arachnophobia is not necessarily irrational. In recent years the funnel web spiders prevalent in the area I grew up were declared the deadliest of three, related species. They used to roam our backyards. They were also very aggressive.I scrolled down this page and this nearly gave me a heart attack, lol.

Aussies would know the pictured spider is harmless. My wife chastised it because it wasn’t eating the bugs. It seems to have struck up some sort of détente with the daddy longlegs spiders that congregate in the other corner of the shower. (They are even smaller and less offensive. But they have at least spun webs.)
Size is not necessarily a measure of safety. The red-back spiders that infested my childhood home and yard, related to the black widow, were definitely venomous. They were, however, very small and reclusive (while being celebrated in song.) My brother and I used to hunt them when we were kids.

The Icelandic posters were a Christmas gift from our friend, Hjördís. We couldn’t decide where to put them and thought the black and white would look best over the bar.
We sit outside every morning on those blue chairs and drink our coffee, unless it’s pouring or the temperature is below zero.
