Job update

Mattymatt

Imperfectly Perfect
Just when I thought things looked grim I got a phone call from the Piedmont Airlines recruiter today saying that my job offer should not have been rescinded. It was a mistake.

Apparently there were two recent offer letters sent. Someone else has the same name as me. I got the rescind letter instead of the other guy. My first day in training will be this Friday.

I am nervous because I am not sure that I will be able to handle the physical aspects of the job. I am fairly recently out of gastric bypass surgery and I am not in the greatest physical shape but I think I can hold my own. Only time will tell I guess.

Either way, I plan on giving it my best shot and I know the first couple of weeks will be tough but I plan on digging deep into my energy reserves. I just need to be able to do this for 6 months before I can transfer to a different job within the union.

That is great news! Wrong guy gets the letter because their names are the same, sounds like a movie plot!
So I guess the other Mattymatt shows up for work and finds out he didn’t have a job after all. I don’t know if that is sad or funny.
Anyway, I’m glad you got the job!

That is great news! You can do it. Stay strong. Come on here for support. We are here for you :-)

@Mattymatt, I really like this, and not is great news!

The only advice you need is not to try too hard. You're an Aspie, you'll already give 190% more to the job than anyone else, so ensuring you don't break yourself will still mean you outperform your fellow workers!

Good luck for Friday!!

Wohoo! What a lucky break. I went from serious spinal surgery to living in the mountains in a tent. You got this.

I am jealous! I love the mountains! I wish I could set up a Wall Tent in Alaska and have my daily views of the snow-covered mountains.

That really is good news and you've offered some insight because I tend to throw in my all into what I do. It just doesn't feel right if I don't, as you put it, give 190%.
