Hi everyone I hope you are all in good health!
I started a new job towards the end of January. Things are going good. The hours are the same each week and so are the days and the work is based on fixing laptops, tablets and mobiles phones. Taking holidays requires only 48 hrs notice as I am only one of a big field of technicians.
As usual I was the quiet one then boom here I am lol! It's a male only environment so there's lots of jokes flying around. I'm known as a bit off the wall, weird, etc but it's all said in good taste. I'm mature enough not to take things to heart anymore. I give as good as I get also.
I'm memorising the model numbers of devices which might appear crazy to some of the others but I'm comfortable with everything. At first it was very tiring having to learn the job and the stress of not being able to fix something was horrendous. However you can't fix everything so it's part of the job. My work ethic is strong and I'm really happy where I work.
My conclusion is that nobody knows I have Asperger's and they don't need to as they wouldn't really understand. It's on my employment records but that's it. I no longer get upset with myself for being different. I like who I am this year.
