I’ve lost my nerve.

It was abrupt from your perspective.
The duration of your acquaintance was brief.

From her point of view, the move had probably
been planned for some time and she hadn't
thought it necessary to tell people she'd met
only recently.

If she hadn’t moved away so abruptly, I would’ve handled things better.
Sometimes we have fleeting moments with another person that can leave a lasting impression. I hope eventually you can see this encounter as a nice moment in life and not a harbinger of forever gloom.

I am worried that either time is running out for me to find love or that it already has.

Yes, you frequently mention that idea.

What does you therapist have to offer regarding dealing with your recurrent anxiety?

I don't think time is running out for you. I know a lot of people on these forums have an odd attitude that everyone over 30 has less chance of dating and that people are only attracted to people in their teens and 20s, but that isn't true. People find dates at all ages and if anything it actually gets easier as you get older because people become less shallow and are more open-minded and are less likely to focus on looks.
I think the less you listen to all the people on forums saying "once you hit 30 your life is over", the more you can be optimistic and know that you still have the chance and you're still young. My great uncle is 70, has been single since his wife left him 30 years ago, and has now found a lovely woman who is 8 years younger, and they're so happy together. They might even get married.

But compared to a 70-year-old, you're very young and not too old to find a date. Trust me.
