Hey everyone, Dom here.

I am 29; live in Johannesburg, South Africa & was officially diagnosed as on the ASD in Jan 2023 + have been doing lots of learning and self-awareness since then.

Hoping to get some of the accumulated knowledge from the forum + hoping to share my own (where applicable).

Out for now.

Hi and welcome. We're a real mixed bunch here so there's bound to be a few of us with issues similar to your own. I hope you find it as educational as I did.

Hello and welcome.

Are you Mr. Smee the pirate?

I hope you’re a pirate, but if not, that’s okay. You can be anything here.

I wrote this for you! This is a lot at once. It's gold though. :) Knowledge is Power.

There's a lot of information out there I, and over the past few years I've found it quite interesting learning about psychology. Everyone is not "normal" but has their own separate thoughts, emotions, and opinions.
I have found some fascinating stuff on Wikipedia.
1. Negativity Bias.
Negativity bias (Wikipedia page)
Cognitive bias (broad topic)
2. Theory of Mind.
Theory of mind (Wikipedia page)
3. Autism = Magnifying glass in thought, losing of the grand perspective.
Generally, people have a wider, FOGGY thought process. :o
4. Lone thinking, missing the value of collaboration with other people to find solutions to problems. It's okay to ask other people for help.

Elon Musk is an example. Did you know he's from South Africa? This video short was pretty interesting to me because it demonstrates how when you share your ideas with someone knowledgeable, they may notice an improvement.

Here are some relevant YouTube channels I really really like :)

HealthyGamerGG (YT) [Q&A Therapist]

Congratulations for starting the next chapter in your life. :)

Wow, thank you - think I have stumbled on some of these (still lots of learning needed) but am grateful for the possible trove of knowledge.

I do also like Wiki as a solid reliable source!

*Thank you for helping with a contribution to the next chapter.
