Is anybody self employed?

I had to retire early from a military career due to an injury, and now supplement our income as a part time dealer of toy figurines. I have been a collector since age 11 and started selling quite a few years ago as a once in a while thing. Now I just developed it into more of a regular small mail order business conducted via the internet. I also do a little sculpting of original figures but haven't really incorporated that into the business yet. It just hasn't proved practical.

Are you familiar with sculptor Mike Good ? I knew him many years ago when he just got into figurines and models.

No, what type of figures does he do? I have mostly been in the military figurines, but added Lord of the Rings after those movies came out.

He does virtually everything historically speaking....multiple scales at 54mm and higher. Here's a little bit of what I do. Models and figures from a very specific era in 1/35 scale:

well i dont realy know i am trying somthing new i brough colored card stalk paper and i cut the up in little pieces and then i write happpy messages on the paper like always smile hope you have a happy day thing like that. do it sounds silly to you
 
I was self-employed for the last 14 years that I worked. I retired from my job when I was 60 years old becaues I was having medical issues and could not keep up. Several of my customers asked if I would keep working on their equipment. That is how I got to be self-employed. This was a win-win situation, the customers paid less, I made more and worked less. I should have done it years sooner.

I'm kind of self employed/contracted--either as a traveling musician, or commissioned composer. I learned how to do my taxes a couple years ago and was flummoxed by how easy it is! I like doing my taxes.
 
I'm retired now, but I was mostly self employed, or fairly close to it. I never did find the good business partner that my heroes recommend to make things grow, but doing extra-odd jobs kept me going.
