Invent-a-word!

Flarnf

It is a word used extensively in our home. It is a noun, verb, and adjective.

Basically, "flarnf" is the sound our old cat made as she was eating wet catfood.

Noun: we need to feed the cat her flarnf

Verb: the pot is boiling over and flarnfing all over the stovetop

Adj: i don't want to touch raw meat because it's all flarnfy

Prounounced flar-niff

Splarf/splarfing/splarfy are variations of flarnf, when we need a word that describes things that are even gooeyer than flarnf.

IGBT. Back in my Caterpillar days I used to order a IGBT (igbit) from the parts people. After a while they knew what I was talking about and got me one. It is not really a made up word, it is a acronym for insulated gate bipolar transistor.

Buttpumper - the onboard air compressor that inflates the air shocks and keeps the rear of the car level.

Been using this term for well over 20 years.

That was a very timely post for me. I just got done helping my wife make banana bread. Squishing up overly ripe bananas was a very flarnfy job.

Acidy - how I feel when I know my body is too acidic and I can taste it. Even before it turns into reflux.

Toothpasty mud - that kind of mud from a puddle that has mostly evaporated, that has a skin over it, just the right consistency where it sticks to anything it touches.

A no-wall. To be behind a no wall (as opposed to being behing a paywall). Not being able to do something because people keep telling you no.

Nyep. No and yes together, when someone is being unclear or ambiguous.

short-bus autism/long-bus autism: autism that requires full-blown special education services [or not].

(I have children in both categories.)

Geco-Nerdic: adj. on the geek/nerd continuum; colloquial labels that may or may not parallel neuro-diverse conditions [modeled on Greco- + Nordic].

Dys-social distancing: the closest many autistics will come to "social" distancing (in the general public).

Myurinxedsplyuraline - when you are so dumbfounded by the sheer lack of common sense but can’t use swear words because there’s old ladies and children present.

faccine: n. a synthetic vaccine (like Pfizer & Moderna) [portmanteau "facsimile vaccine"]
syn. pseudo-vaccine
