Hi, I'm Andre. I'm new to this site but am excited to find a community of people I share common ground with. I was diagnosed wish AS at age 5 and have always exhibited typical characteristics of Aspies, including sensory difficulties and becoming heavily immersed in one interest. I love the outdoors and find it can be very therapeutic. I struggle with substance abuse and am currently in a rehabilitation program. I also have bipolar I and have struggled with Capgras syndrome in the past. Sometimes I have self esteem issues related to being autistic, but I know I shouldn't be fazed by social stereotypes and stigma.

welcome

Capgras syndrome is fascinating. Im sorry it part of your current struggles, which can't be easy.

I do remember one time, many years ago when my uncle offered me a lift. My thoughts were 'what if its not really him?'
So i didnt take the lift.
But it must be awful to actually suffer from it, like second guessing reality.
