Hello, I'm a mother of a 32 year old son who is a very high performing adult on the autism spectrum. He also has crohns disease, which is quite active and causing much discomfort. He has been at a standstill for some years and since I am now 71 and retired I want to increase my efforts to help him improve his situation. I also want to him him get on social security disability which he was turned down for over a year ago and cannot seem to work. I want any information that may qualify him for social security or to help him get out of a rut. Can you help?

Hi & welcome,
We are not professionals or counselors. Just autistics on the spectrum and this is our meeting place. Sometimes its helpful morale-wise just to talk with others like yourself, so perhaps you can suggest your son visit a forum like this one.

Quite honestly that's really a legal issue best addressed by attorneys who specialize in negotiating social security benefits. Particularly if your son has been denied such benefits in the past.
