I want eyelids for my ears.

Does anyone else ever think about this? Like, I want little flaps in my ears that can be moved to block out noise. And you could "squint" to block out most noise or close all the way for complete silence.
No more covering my ears! My hands would be free!
I feel like this is a great idea but I can't exactly force my body to evolve so ... movable inner ear implants anyone?

Yes. This. Me too.
Plugs in ears start to ache and are uncomfortable. If only I could 'squint' and the noise would quieten... I do squint when it hurts my ears ... with no result.
Some aspie somewhere is working on this, right?

It is embarrassing to have to cover my ears in public when I hear loud noises out of the blue. If we can get hover cars then we can certainly come up with squinting ears in the future.

Ha! Now that's an idea. It would be like reverse hearing aids. Quick, someone invent it, gogo.

Such a thing exists. I don't know much about them, but I have seen ads for little devices that you put in your ears like ear plugs to control sound input.
