I am sorry to hear that you are feeling sad and lonely.

I must advise you that internet *hugging/cuddling* on this forum
is something we don't encourage. There were instances of it being
a problem in General Chat, for example.

Instead of asking for *cuddles* I recommend saying that you are
sad and lonely and would like to talk to a supportive person.

PS There is this thread>

That would be the place to go to look for public *hugs/cuddles.*

Hi there Heathie

My heart goes out to you. I have been there feeling lonely and sad, because of it.

You have joined a fantastic forum and won't feel that way for much longer!

I am certainly glad to read @tree's answer, because I would try and send you a hug avatar, but she is a staff member, so I won't.

Hello Everyone;

Due to the valued concerns of the forum staff, i have changed the title of this discussion in the public forum, and i have moved the hug / cuddle request into the the relevant topic. :)

You aren't alone in your situation. lacking social skills can make one feel like an alien among one's peers, and causes some of us to build social boundaries around ourselves to keep embarassing situations out. it also can make someone very, very isolated from the rest of the society. Sometimes finding friends doesn't remedy this at all, even though it seems like it should. try to focus on a favourite hobby or interest for now (cooking, gaming, driving, painting, memeing, planking, running around your neighbourhood and covering everything in yarn, whatever works). you may find others with that interest, or may become so enthused with that hobby that you'd rather be doing that then social interaction.

I'm very sorry you're feeling this way. I completely understand feeling lonely and like no one cares. Unfortunately, I don't think it's an uncommon thing for us Aspies to feel excluded. :(

I second the above person's recommendation to find a special interest of yours and try to make friends around that. That's kind of what I'm attempting to do right now, and while I'm not BFF's with anyone yet, I've made some progress. ;)
