I love my family song Julia from Sesame Street

Julia is well known as Sesame Street's openly autistic Muppet. I personally would have liked CTW, which makes the show, to have used a human who is actually autistic in real life as well as on screen, but I think that for now Julia is what we'll have to settle for. Sometimes CTW uses Muppet characters to introduce controversial topics into the show that viewers might be uncomfortable with if a human was depicted in that way. For example, the version shown in South Africa has an openly HIV+ Muppet-HIV is epidemic in the country-and even in Africa HIV/AIDS is a very touchy subject. I personally would like to see a Sesame Street character with downs syndrome or non-autistic intellectual disability.
