I feel like buying a large bottle of whiskey for the upcoming weekend.

Because a gallon of Maker's Mark will make me feel happy and content during my three days of isolation during the Fourth of July weekend. I certainly would mind the nonstop annoying fireworks a lot less. /end sarcasm

Maybe I should find something better to do with my time instead, and some other way to cope with the asshole neighbors making all that noise all night long.

Oh.
Are the first two sentence of Post #1 meant as sarcasm?

You could use the standard indicator for that:
/s

Look at it as an opportunity to rediscover yourself through a bit of solitude, rather than feel a need to be with others or with a bottle.

Addiction thrives in isolation. Perhaps find an AA meeting either IRL or online. I know your being sarcastic, but it does sound like there is some nostalgia for your drink of choice creeping in. Its your old friend, a natural reminiscence during a time where people gather to do the thing you cannot do anymore. A vulnerable time for certain, so get busy, and reach out.

Another certainty, no one relapses and is glad they did it. There is no guarantee you come back from it.
