I always wondered, if sex isn't dirty, how come they keep the dirty magazines behind the counter?

The messages I am seeing here are as confusing to me as the messages I have seen from society in general. As a teen and young adult having what I thought were normal desires and curiosity about relationships and sex, yet being isolated, damaged me seriously, leading to a self-hatred that still crops up unwanted. I have tried to look at sex as a normal human need, made more interesting by letting somebody share your personal space, as a positive. I've always thought of sex so positively, never externalizing my struggles, so to see sex expressed in the negative is confusing.

Yes I see sex that way for the most part too. Sex should be just sex. Of course with humans nothing can be that simple.

It is the exploitation that is negative. Since the whole subject is so laden with triggers for emotional reactions, plus often power struggles, social hierarchies, as well as unfortunately exploitation, it can be a mess to untangle.

I'd be thrown out into the street naked and fed to them. Thats what he said they'd do if our house got stalked again. We moved and I'm specifically ordered to say we're still at the old place as a distraction. I'm even supposed to use a VPN, but its too much trouble.

I dont want your address, I just want you to be well. Is this your parent that wants you to hide away? I hope you feel safe here. Just ignore me if that makes you feel safer, i have some pretty strange views.

Like i dont allow anyone to freak me out with psycho babble nonsense mind games about how "WE" need to hide from "THEM". that's important to me. I also feel like I can choose who to talk to, and what to say, all by myself. I used to live with an asshole with a gun. He had the gun for "protection" he said. He had enemies he said. He needed to have that goddam gun with him everywhere. Guess who got to set policy and make decisions?

These days there arent any guns around at all. Everyone is safer because the abusive violent paranoid freak city creep is making a mess in someone else's life, far far away from me. As it turns out there wasnt anything to be afraid of after all, except the self appointed guardian who was keeping us all safe. He's a pretty scary guy, actually a threat to security, all by himself
 
I'm going to answer the title question in my opinion: Because not everyone who goes into stores, gas stations, etc is an adult.

It depends on a person's views. Some people think that children shouldn't have access to pornography. I understand that not everyone shares that view, however and that there are extremes on both sides.

Long answer:
Mysogeny based in religion and normalised by church doctrine. Women have been blamed for mens lust since the begining of time. It is confirmation bias. "I feel lust when I look at you, therefore you are bad, wicked and using magic to control me."
Ever since the dawn of certain religions women have been subjegated by poor reasoning and fear.

Men have been seen as "weak" for their drive and "powerful" by that same drive, directly proportional to their status in society. The "weak" fall prey to women, the "powerful" control them.

I understand, but I detest that reasoning. A lot of my cPTSD comes from my loneliness and sexual frustration, and it has helped a bit knowing how I brought that on myself. Who, growing up in the 50s and 60s wasn't steeped in those moralistic and cruel teachings? I pity those who feel that way about women, for how could they enjoy a mutually loving and satisfying relationship. And now, recognizing that I had missed normal and sexually wholesome relationships, it disturbs me to hear about the dysfunctional thinking of mysogeny, like that Atlanta killer who thought that women were responsible for his lust and inability to be in a relationship. By the grace of god I avoided that, though I was fascinated by women, desired a relationship, but was fearful of putting myself under their judgement.

Not this nerd. In the corporate world I have enjoyed working with strong women, some of whom thanked me for my help. There have been some who thought they had a pipeline to the truth, and we rarely saw eye to eye, though my treatment was always professional. I enjoy the female form as much as anybody, but there is a time and place for that.

What do you mean extremes are both sides? Kids don't have to watch it. Some music videos are like adult entertainment, Britney Spears video toxic dropped when I was 12, and she was nude, in it, they played all day long! I hit puberty watching that one, then she was, flashed not wearing underwear, and some of her videos her Gimmie more, womanizer, make me and every time videos she is naked, and that's fine went for back-to-school shopping when I was going into high school. My mom bought me band merch on the back of my rob zombie shirt. His gorgeous wife Sherri was topless wearing. A hat crouched down. My mom just said, cover it. I did with a denim jacket. People don't have to look at porn to see naked people everywhere they go. It is throughout. Also, that's okay if a 12-year-old boy wants to watch porn films, Not just because Elsa Jean and Cali Carter are beautiful! But because The likes of Spears, Rihanna, and Milly Cyrus exposed themselves in their music videos. I'm sure kids watched that and went, oh, Wow, nice! It is a natural reaction! Even Alicia Silverstone got undressed in a racy PETA shoot!

If I offend anyone, I'm sorry. But the fact that lust is a deadly sin is an absolute joke. Lisa Ann shot a porn video like that for devils films touching on how ridiculous that is. She died and went to hell. In the video, simply for watching. Porn of all the things wrong with society, and they're worried about adult entertainment?

Lust in the biblical sense goes deeper than sexual desire. Lust is an illistration of being out of control of yourself. That means to abdecate free will to base reaction instead of using freewill to guide your choices.
It is the doctorine of certain churches that solely equates lust with sex.

Those doctrines are just silly those, churches They don't even follow them. Some Catholic priest had a three-way at the alter last year.
