How old were you when you got your first job?

I did do a paper round as a kid but I forget how old I was.

First proper work was age 16-17. Worked on the till in Woolworths part time.

Reading all of your comments made me both wistful and depressed... I've been trying my best at succeeding at academics with my SSI funding my tuition. But now that I've graduated, I've been trying to find my first real full time job at the age of 30!!! It's made me feel more pathetic, especially since I'm scared that I might break down and unable to accomplish much in life.

Unofficially, 7. The next door farmer used to pay me to go and pull out all the wild oats from his wheat fields.

I started at 12 years old with a Paper Route and bought a toy store mountain bike.

When I was 14 I got a job as bus help at a local restaurant and saved 400.00 and bought a bike shop mountain bike and raced it several times. @ 16 I got a job at a high end race shop assembling and repairing bicycles.

Now I do dumb grownup stuff, but it supports my family of 4. :)
