I always pronounce it with a soft G, like as-per-jers, even though English-speaking Canadians are supposed to pronounce it with a hard G. Canadians say quite a few words differently than Americans so why not?
Except for "about", which we don't pronounce as a-boot. It makes my blood boil when people elsewhere think we do.
