I prefer to travel on my own four legs. But sometimes that is not an option. I take planes when necessary and get a car ride when traffic is too dangerous.

I voted Road Trip in Own Car.

A few decades ago, I would have voted by Plane. In the 70's flying was extremely fun. The whole process was easy for me to take. It was all very friendly with no overcrowding.
We took a flight to Fresno CA last week. It was horrible. Nothing friendly about it. It was extremely crowded from check in to exiting the destination terminal. The plane ride was a horror story. Being shoved through TSA made me feel like a livestock animal. The plane was 100% overcrowded with crammed in excess seats and people.
The most anguishing part was the STINK!!! Overwhelming body odor; overwhelming perfume, cologne and other smells I can't even define was more than I could take. I actually considered farting in hopes it would make them smell better. (No. I didn't actually do it.)

In contrast; We took a 5,120 mile road trip last year in our Tesla model Y. That was a fantastic trip. Very comfortable, quiet, relaxing with no issues the entire trip. Drove to the US far east coast to the NC outer banks, then up through the Adirondacks, then over through Pennsylvania then back to the outer banks then back home. If anything it was an antidepressant therapy. Makes me look forward to doing it again. :)

Will Never travel by car with my parents ever again to a crappy location to Greentown PA. Since I don't have reliable friends to travel with, I am forced to stay local forever.
