WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Studies show between 60 and 80 percent of adults with autism are unemployed.

They often have brilliant minds or advanced degrees, but they sometimes don’t have the social skills to nail the interview and keep their jobs.


Alison Starling talks to one woman who lost her job after two weeks because she didn’t “fit in.” She also talks about programs that hire autistic adults and how they are breaking through the barriers.

I don't know what's worse: being let go after 2 weeks, or having them let you work for a couple of years, doing all the extra work and setting things up for them to make it so they barely have to do anything, and then dumping you like a piece of dirty garbage, after having talked about you behind your back and completely humiliated you the whole time.
