Me too. Knew of the film, but had no idea the lead character was on the spectrum.

It wasn't a nuanced portrayal... it has the savant skill, misunderstanding sarcasm for laughs, need for routine and lack of facial expressions. It's not that I disliked it per say, I wasn't really holding out for realism in an action movie, but apart from the childhood-flash-backs they threw at you, there was no real depth to the character.
