How has everyone been doing lately? Do you know anything interesting about your bloodlines? My ancestor was actually John Milton, the author of Paradise Lost!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

One of my ancestors was William Earl of Orange, the dopey twit that started all the trouble in Ireland. That basically says it all for Mum's side of the family. :)

I know little to nothing about my ancestry, other than that my ancestors were from England, Scotland, Germany, and some other places. My mum once told me I might be descended from Vikings, though I think that was a way of saying that I have Scandinavian ancestry.

I know that George Washington & Meriwether Lewis were my distant cousins.* Neither was my ancestor. They both died childless.

I am also supposed to be related to Daniel Boone, but I do not know in what capacity. (Contrary to the legend, he was certainly BA, but not a big man...)

*That lineage connects to the Queen of England somehow, too.

Howdy, and welcome!

My ancestors all ran away from unfortunate places, seeking some form of relative safety. None of them were of historical importance.

Worked for a while.

My great-grandmother was from Italy, left and went to America because the mafia wanted protection money for her little store. My grandmother on my dad's side said we were descendants from the Pioneer Daughters. I did look up my middle name and found that those bearing that last name had all kinds of degrees in psychology. At some point in my life, l was married to a psychiatrist. Is this just a coincidence?
