Hi

Hi, my name is Christine. When I was 9 I knew I was different but didn’t know why or what made me different. I just felt like I didn’t get IT. Like people, the world, or what I was supposed to do… I used my “friends” as examples of how I should act, say, dress. I knew that by being myself, no body would like me, so I did what they did. When I wasn’t good enough at “acting” like them I was called blonde, make fun of or lost friends. I never understood why and they wouldn’t tell me! It’s always been frustrating and lonely. I’m 40 now and have finally figured out why I’m different. I found a friend and boyfriend that I could be my true self with. They are also on the spectrum. So here I am looking for more friends lol

Hi Christine! :)
What you described sounds exactly like my childhood. I still struggle to fit in and maintain friendships as an adult too.

You will definitely find that you’re not alone here :) Myself and many others will identify with this post.

Welcome! :)
- Luca
