I am not on the spectrum but I just broke up with my boyfriend that has Aspergers. I have some questions about some of his actions. I had a hard time telling if he had character defects or were his actions to be attributed to Aspergers?

hi suzy welcome to AC.
the one thing to remember with people on the spectrum is we can be dicks to and its not always a good thing to allow negative behaviors because the person has autism, its good for helping you to understand and adapt to him and his differences but not for 'blaming' things he purposely does that really upset/affect you,you should expect mutual respect and care from a boyfriend/girlfriend whether theyre autistic or not.
