Hi there undiagnosed looking for answers

ASD ADHD comorbidity...my son was diagnosed with ASD and ADHD.

I can definitely relate to most of what you posted.

I was recently diagnosed with ASD at 55...I think you'll find solice within this forum. I've come to understand myself a bit better by being here.

If you don’t mind me enquiring did you only get a diagnosis so later in life due to your son being diagnosed?

I think if I did eventually get a diagnosis I think it’s came later because I’ve obviously masked extremely hard my whole life would you state the same for yourself?

This forum is definitely a great place to start with all the positive people on here.

Welcome!

I don't have too much to add to what's already been said other than that apparently a majority of those on the spectrum have at least one other diagnosis, of which ADD/ADHD is a common one.

Thank you all for your wise words.

I going to use this thread as a sort of journal when situation comes up that I don’t feel the most comfortable in and why but not knowing why I feel like that. If anyone else feels like sharing similar situations you’re more than welcome.

On that note going to get a haircut. Does anyone else dislike going to the barbershop?

I’ve just been as it’s my partners Birthday today and we’re going out later but I usually get my haircut every 8 weeks or so and it’s usually well overgrown by that point but I can only really bring myself to getting it cut for special occasions. I never know where to look in the mirror especially when there’s another person also getting their hair cut In the seat next to you. Also the small talk the barber makes which is always about football which I watch occasionally but am not up to date with I’d rather just be silent get my haircut and be in and out. Then there’s the multiple conversations when it’s busy which are a bit much especially as you’ve just got to stay there until your haircut is finished.
