Hi, not diagnosed (yet) and confused

Hi! My name is Leni and I think I am autistic.
No diagnosis yet, I am waiting to be called for an assessment, but I have been thinking about this since I was a teen.
I am in my fourties and have been diagnosed with a number of things in the last 15 years: bipolar, borderline PD, avoidant PD, depression, mood disorder NOS, social anxiety, OCD, psychosis... None of the diagnoses brought complete clarity, therapy helped with some aspects (childhood trauma) but a lot if my issues are still there.
My life is quite stable now, I have a family of my own, a new job I love, and in general I am quite happy. However, my issues in understanding social clues, people fatigue, extreme introversion and general feeling if being an alien lost on the wrong planet is still there.
I’d love to understand more about myself and know that I am not broken or damaged but just different.
Thanks for listening!

Welcome to Autism Forums! If you can get a diagnosis it will answer questions you have had about your self all your life.

Welcome, @Leni-Ali. Whether you're formally diagnosed, informally diagnosed, or just suspicious, I hope enjoy your time here. There are discussions on pretty much every autism-related topic you can think about. I hope you find this forum as welcoming and useful as I have.

Welcome Leni-Ali. I can relate to your "issues in understanding social clues, people fatigue, extreme introversion and general feeling if being an alien lost on the wrong planet" which I think may well be Aspie traits. My Aspie diagnosis helped me to see myself more clearly so I can navigate among the NTs more easily and I hope, if you turn out to be an Aspie, that it helps you too.

Hi, thank you so much for joining!

It's completely okay to be dealing with this. Even if you are still questioning if you're autistic or you don't exactly fit with the exact diagnosis, you are still welcome here. I'm also really happy that things seem to be going well for you in life :)

Welcome Leni. :sunflower:
I'm glad you are stable in your life. That is great to hear.
The other things you mentioned I can totally relate to also.
I hope you find the forum helpful and enjoy being a part of the group. :)
